You can choose to go to college on your own and take some computer science classes. You don't need to be a full time student all the time in order to take college classes. If you just want to take some classes part time during the day or at night it will be easy to do because college classes are offered at various times during the day and evening so it can fit into your schedule. Most adults who go back to school will take courses part time so they can work around their schedules at work. Computer science classes are very popular and you may not be able to get in to the classes you want right off so you will have to try next semester. Try to get to registration before everyone else does to ensure that you will get the computer science classes that you wanted.
Trade schools, or vocational schools, are somewhat like on-the-job training. They don't cover everything that you need to know but they do cover the basics of the computer science classes. If you are interested in this field you will learn no matter what setting you are in. It helps to have college classes because the credit that you receive can go toward a bachelors or a master's degree. Every moment you spend in a class room in college can benefit you in several ways. Your books can be purchased new or used and can be an important key in understanding computer science. - Stock up on paper, pens, pencils and a bag to keep everything together for you so you won't lose papers in between class and home.
